About Us
Gamepad Tester Pro is a free online tool built for gamers, by gamers.
It started with a simple frustration: controllers develop problems slowly — a drifting stick here, a sticky trigger there — and by the time you notice, you have already lost matches you should have won. The existing solutions meant downloading software, creating accounts, or digging through operating-system menus. So we built a tester that lives entirely in the browser.
How it works
The tool uses the open HTML5 Gamepad API, a standard built into all modern browsers. When you connect a controller and press a button, your browser exposes its inputs — buttons, sticks, triggers, vibration motors — and our tester visualises them in real time.
There is nothing to install and no account to create. Most importantly, your controller data never leaves your device: every button press and stick movement is processed locally, in your own browser, and nothing is recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere.
Who it is for
- Competitive players who test their controller before tournaments to rule out hardware issues.
- Buyers checking a brand-new or second-hand controller before the return window closes.
- Repairers and modders verifying their work after fixing stick drift or replacing parts.
- Casual gamers who want to know whether that missed shot was lag, the game — or a dying trigger.
Why it is free
We believe a diagnostic tool this simple should not cost anything or demand your data. The site is supported by advertising, which is why you will never see a paywall, a "pro" tier, or a signup form here.
What is next
We are continuously improving the tester — better visualisations, more detailed diagnostics, and guides that help you fix the problems you find. If you have an idea, a bug report, or a controller that behaves strangely, we genuinely want to hear about it: gamepadtesterpro@gmail.com.
